Colorado's 24th Byway -- Near and Dear to Denver

Within 25 miles of Denver, the Lariat Loop Scenic & Historic Byway offers visitors more than 25,000 acres of preserved open spaces and mountain parks and more than 30 museums and interpretive sites. A favorite for more than 90 years, the Lariat Loop Scenic & Historic Byway will introduce you to more than 150 million years of Colorado history and prehistory.

A Scenic Circle of Heritage Treasures

On this 40-mile route you can retrace the motoring adventures of the early days of the automobile, 1900-1920, and still experience the thrill of foothills touring. Colorado's first gateways to the mountains still have sharp curves, winding roads, spectacular views, and waysides. When you come, use our brochure guide to explore on your own. If you can't visit, enjoy a virtual tour experience right here online!
