Golden History Museums

The Golden History Center is the foremost place to learn about the history of Golden. Walk through the Show and Tell exhibit to have an in-depth exploration of the collection. Watch a video that features the musical memories and continuing influence of music in the lives of Goldenites in the Turn it Up! exhibit. Experience the energy of Golden s early days through a photo gallery and the changing community-curated exhibits. Then, stroll through the nearby Clear Creek History Park and visit Astor House Museum. Pioneer life in the hills and canyons near Golden was harsh, difficult and most who survived as farmers and ranchers. On select days, interact with costumed interpreters who enliven the landscape with cooking and blacksmithing demonstrations. Step inside the one-room Guy Hill Schoolhouse and take a seat in a student s desk, but don t wisecrack to the school mistress!
