Wildflower Festival (June) Lookout Mountain Nature Center: Celebrate the incredible diversity and importance of native wildflowers through fun activities for the whole family including a plant sale, education stations, hikes, and crafts. 

Movie in the Grove (July/August) Hiwan Heritage Park and Museum: Hiwan Museum and the Jefferson County Historical Society host their annual Movie in the Grove during the summer months. One of the movies is typically a silent film accompanied by live piano music. Enjoy lovely Heritage Grove while viewing classic movies under the stars. 

Quilt Festival (September/October) Hiwan Heritage Park and Museum: For one day during September or October, the grounds around Hiwan Museum are filled with the colorful artistry of handmade quilts and coverlets gathered from the Evergreen community and beyond. The Museum is open during this event, which is sponsored by the Jefferson County Historical Society. 

Halloween Tales and Trails (October) Lookout Mountain Nature Center: Enjoy playing games and creating seasonal crafts at our family-friendly, Halloween festival. You might even encounter a trailside character or two and hear their “wild” stories. Also, dress-up one of our scarecrows and prepare to meet some unique critters. Suggested donation: $10 per family or $5 per individual. 

Halloween (October) Hiwan Heritage Park and Museum: Put on your best costume and enjoy Halloween treats, activities, and crafts. This event is free and open to children of all ages and is usually held on the Friday evening before Halloween. This event is sponsored by Jefferson County Historical Society.

Nature’s Gifts (December) Lookout Mountain Nature Center: Hey, all you young naturalists, have fun making nature-related holiday crafts for your loved ones. Suggested donation $3 per child for craft supplies. 

Holiday Walk (December) Hiwan Heritage Park and Museum: Visit Hiwan Museum on the first Friday evening in December for crafts, treats, roasting chestnuts, festive decorations and more. This is in conjunction with Evergreen’s annual event. 

Christmas Tea (December) Hiwan Heritage Park and Museum: Enjoy a light luncheon in the beautifully decorated Museum. The lunch is usually accompanied by live music or a speaker. This event is sponsored by the Jefferson County Historical Society.

Morrison Signature Events :

Morrison Alleyfest:  First weekend in May:  Craft beers and Music on the first weekend of outdoor – summertime festivals.  Food vendors and arts booths fill the alley behind Morrison’ main street for strolling and listening to bands all day.  Features duck races in the Mt. Vernon creek for prizes.  Games and bouncy castle area for kids included.  No entrance fee. For more information, contact:  Promote Morrison.org and  Angela Bernhardt. 

Morrison CiderfestLast Saturday in September for 27 years, Morrison’s Fall festival has featured cider presses and music.  We’ve added: showcase for craft cider and beer, local food vendors, arts and artisan vendors, car show and shine and many kid-fun activities such as hay rides and pony rides, bouncy castle, climbing walls, bungee jumps – ALL with no gate fee.  (This family oriented event does have some activities charging a fee).  For more information, contact:  Promote Morrison.org and  Ryan Kloberdanz.
