LEARN TO MAKE UKRAINIAN EASTER EGGS (PYSANKY)

Learn the art of Ukrainian egg decorating (pysanky) at Hiwan Homestead Museum!  This class will be led by Museum Program Coordinator Meghan McGinnes, who has been decorating the traditional Ukrainian eggs for 15 years. Class will be held on Thursday, April 5th at 1:00 P.M. at Hiwan Homestead Museum, 4208 S. Timbervale Dr., Evergreen CO 80439.  Discover the legends, symbolism, and history behind these beautifully decorated eggs while making one yourself!  Reservations are required for the class and the fee is $10.00 to attend.  To pre-register, call the museum at 720-497-7654.  The class is sponsored by the Jefferson County Historical Society.

Hiwan Homestead Museum is a 25-room log mansion constructed in the Rustic style of architecture.  It is located in Evergreen at 4208 S. Timbervale Drive and is a Jefferson County Open Space facility operated through a partnership with the Jefferson County Historical Society.  The Museum was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
